Kitesurf and wing foil both use wind, a board and balance, but they feel very different. The right choice depends on what excites you, how you learn and how much independence you want at each stage.
Choose kitesurf if
You like speed, long tacks and the power of a kite. Kitesurf has more setup on land because lines, bar and safety system matter, but once the basics click it gives a strong sense of range. The early course focuses on control, body drag, water start and riding upwind. Read more in the beginner kitesurf guide.
Choose wing foil if
You want a compact setup and a more direct relationship with the wing in your hands. There are no lines and no bar; the foil adds a new balance challenge, but the first handling steps can feel less intimidating. It is especially attractive if you come from SUP, windsurf or board sports. The full introduction is in the wing foil guide for Olbia.
What changes at Le Saline
Le Saline works for both because it offers space and regular side-on thermal wind. Kite lessons use the bay and boat support for safe progression; wing lessons use stable boards first, then foil when the timing is right. If the forecast is marginal, we help you pick the best discipline for the day.
