How to get to Le Saline, Olbia: practical guide

Updated on
Panoramic coastal road descending toward the sea on the way to Le Saline in Olbia

Le Saline is the beach where we teach kitesurf, wing foil and SUP. It sits just outside Olbia, close enough to the airport and ferry port that you can land, pick up a car and be on the sand in a short drive.

The quick picture

The spot is in the area of Via Isola Padron Fiaso. From Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport it usually takes about 10-15 minutes by car; from the Isola Bianca ferry port, about 15-20 minutes. Murta Maria is even closer, while Porto San Paolo, San Teodoro and the Costa Smeralda are all workable bases if you plan your transfers around wind and traffic.

If you want to understand what you will find once you arrive, start with the complete Le Saline spot guide.

By plane

Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport is the simplest entry point for most visitors. In summer it connects with many Italian and European cities, and the transfer to Le Saline is short. Renting a car is the most flexible option because wind sports depend on timing: you can follow the best afternoon thermal window and explore nearby beaches on calm days.

By ferry

The Isola Bianca port is ideal if you want to bring your own car or equipment. Summer crossings fill quickly, especially with vehicles, so booking early helps. Once you disembark, the road to Le Saline is direct and you avoid a long Sardinian transfer.

Parking and the last stretch

Parking is available near the beach, but in high season it depends heavily on time of day. Arrive early when the forecast is sunny and windy, keep valuables out of sight and ask us for the exact meeting point before your lesson. We will point you to the easiest reference for where we are set up that day.

Build the trip around the spot

Getting here is only the first part. A good kite or wing trip also means choosing the right base, watching the wind and booking lessons before the best slots fill.
